An assassin’s loyalties are always in doubt.
But her heart never wavers.
After a year of hard labor in the Salt Mines of Endovier, eighteen-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien has won the king's contest to become the new royal assassin. Yet Celaena is far from loyal to the crown – a secret she hides from even her most intimate confidantes.
Keeping up the deadly charade—while pretending to do the king's bidding—will test her in frightening new ways, especially when she's given a task that could jeopardize everything she's come to care for. And there are far more dangerous forces gathering on the horizon -- forces that threaten to destroy her entire world, and will surely force Celaena to make a choice.
Where do the assassin’s loyalties lie, and who is she most willing to fight for?
GAH, I'm dying to read this one. Throne of Glass was so much fun, and after its ending, I have been dying to get my hands on the inevitable bad-assery that is Crown of Midnight. Also, I must see how this love triangle plays out. Must. (TEAM CHAOL ALL THE WAY.)
I am so eager to read Crown of Midnight too! I loved the first book.

I didn't love Throne of Glass, but it was definitely fun, and this sounds fantastic.
DeleteI've picked up the Throne of Glass more than once from my library have have YET to read it! :) Great pick this week

Oh, you must remedy that soon! It's a very fun read.
DeleteI haven't read Throne of Glass yet, even though I went through the trouble of securing myself a UK copy so I could have the prettier cover. I am SO happy they decided to go with that version of the covers for the second book; the original US was nothing compared to this one!
ReplyDeleteYes, was so happy they stuck to the UK design for the sequel. The US cover has nothing on the UK cover for Throne of Glass. Though I really prefer the US cover to the UK one for Crown of Midnight.
DeleteI have the first one on my Kindle, but I haven't read it yet! I can't wait to get to it though!

Ah, so many people haven't read this one yet! I hope you like it whenever you get to it!
DeleteAhhhh!!! I just finished this one and it was AMAZING!! You are going to seriously love it!
ReplyDeleteYAYYAYAYAYAYAY! I've heard such amazing things and I am so excited for this.
DeleteI haven't read the first one, but I know that tons of people are really excited for the sequel. Throne of Glass was so hyped up that I was afraid to read it and not like it. I love the cover for this one!!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'll definitely be anxious to read your thoughts should you ever read Throne of Glass, Amy! I thought it was really fun, but the MC is a bit frustrating at times.
DeleteI'm waiting for this one too! I just got to meet Sarah J. Maas tonight, so I'm even more excited~
ReplyDeleteOh, lucky! That must've been fun.
DeleteAs I didn't really like the first book, I probably won't pick this one up but I love how powerful she looks on this cover here.
ReplyDeleteI liked the first one well enough, but I can see why you didn't. Definitely not a book for everyone, nor is Celaena an MC for everyone. (She was at times quite frustrating.)
DeleteThe cover = Mind BLOWN
