Showcase Sunday (5)

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicki at Book, Biscuits, and Tea, where we showcase what books we've gotten throughout the course of the week, whether it be from a book store, bought for your eReader, received from the library, or from the publishers for review.
For Review:

A HUGE thanks to Balzer + Bray, and Harlequin Teen for the review copies!

*All of the books I bought this week, with the exception of So Close To You, are currently $2.99 for Kindles and Nooks!*

Ah! So, so excited to read the books I've bought this week! (Especially The Lost Prince. Eeeep!) I may have only gotten two review copies this week, but the two books I got are ones that I've been highly anticipating for a while, and I cannot wait to read them. The same goes for the books I bought (especially Storm and Hold Me Closer, Necromancer, considering hype seems to follow them everywhere they go), and I'm also excited to read Scarlet, although I haven't seen many reviews for it. And So Close to You and Enclave both got pretty mixed reviews (and a few negative reviews from trusted friends of mine), so we'll see how I like them!

What books did you get this week?

  1. I really, really liked Scarlet, except for the love triangle. Can't wait to see what you make of it and the MC's dialect/speech patterns.

I want to read Hold Me Closer, Necromancer! Ive heard NOTHING but raves for it so it's high on my list.

I got the Lost Prince as well! I can't wait -- the Iron Fey series got better for me as they went so there's lots to live up to!

    Nice haul, Blythe :D

  2. I'm so happy to hear that you really liked Scarlet. I barely saw any reviews for that one, and bought it on a limb because the synopsis intrigued. I'm a lot more excited to read it, now! And I really can't wait to read Hold Me Closer, Necromancer. Pretty much every single one of my Goodreads friends absolutely loved it. It should be amazing! The same goes for The Lost Prince. That is going to be AMAZING. The whole Forgotten thing really interested me in The Iron Knight, so I'm so excited to see that Kagawa's expanding on that.

    Thanks, Jessie! :)

  4. No problem! I've had my eye on Storm and Hold Me Closer, Necromancer for a while, so I was ecstatic to see it as $2.99. I was a bit unsure about Enclave, because I know it's gotten lots of negative reviews, and apparently there's a controversial rape scene, but I figured at $2.99, why not? Have you read Enclave?
