There are no men in Claysoot. There are boys—but every one of them vanishes at midnight on his eighteenth birthday. The ground shakes, the wind howls, a blinding light descends...and he’s gone.

They call it the Heist.

Gray Weathersby’s eighteenth birthday is mere months away, and he’s prepared to meet his fate–until he finds a strange note from his mother and starts to question everything he’s been raised to accept: the Council leaders and their obvious secrets. The Heist itself. And what lies beyond the Wall that surrounds Claysoot–a structure that no one can cross and survive.

Climbing the Wall is suicide, but what comes after the Heist could be worse. Should he sit back and wait to be taken–or risk everything on the hope of the other side?

If anyone listens to me when I'm in "If this book isn't released tomorrow I'm going to go crazy" mode, then you'd know that this is easily one of my most highly anticipated books of 2013 (and there are a lot of books I'm looking forward to next year, but this one is at the top). I've made it clear to my Goodreads friends, Erin Bowman, and basically anyone that would listen that I will sell my soul ha, what soul? for an ARC of this book. The cover + the synopsis = perfection. The release date? Not so much.

What book did you choose for your WoW? Leave a link in the comments!

  3. I had seen this cover around, but didn't bother to read the synopsis because I thought it was about that movie called Taken also. You know the one where the girl goes on vaca and gets kidnapped. But this sounds a lot more interesting. Def adding it to my list. Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

  4. I love that movie (they're making a sequel, which is pretty much a copy of the first movie in a different country). No problem; thanks for stopping by my blog, too!

  6. I'm a little unsure about this one, so I think I'm going to batten down the hatches and wait for some reviewers with tastes similar to mine to read this before I go for it. I hope all your anticipation is worth it!

  7. Hi, Paige! I hope all of my anticipation is worth it, too, and I hope you give it like it if you end up reading it! Erin Bowman told me it will eventually appear on Edelweiss, so I'll be stalking the Edelweiss catalog until it's on there. I'll go check out your WoW now!

  12. I like the sounds of this! I think I will have to add this one to my TBR. Also, I find books like this usually tend to be about girls so seeing a male main role is awesome! Great pick! :)

  13. Thanks! And that's exactly what I think, too. Most YA books are told from the point of view of a teenage girl (and of course she *needs* to be 16. Because that's the age everything bad happens, right?), so it's incredibly refreshing to see a book told from the point of view from a male teenager.
